WHY AQUALEA?

Demands for domestic hot water are different from heating:

• heating demands are periodical (necessary only in the coldest parts of the year); demands for domestic hot water are constant throughout the year
• the power necessary to heat domestic hot water is always very different from that needed for heating
• the temperature of domestic hot water is higher (in new houses significantly higher) than temperatures necessary for home heating

This optimization regarding domestic hot water requires it be separated from heating, so that each system can reach its maximum effectiveness.

In order to cover the demand for domestic hot water without starting the heavy-duty heat pump, we have developed the AQUALEA pump.

Against water stratification:

• Stratification effect: Stratification is created by different temperatures in lower/upper parts of the container; this can be seen in hot water production via accumulation. This phenomenon leads to oversizing of the water container capacity in order to compensate temperature differences.
• And contrarily: Systems with instant water heating require huge amounts of energy (example: for 8l/min, i.e. one shower, 22 kW is necessary to heat water from 10°C to 50°C!).

Producing domestic hot water via recirculation prevents unwanted water stratification and high instant energy consumption (less energy is required).
